Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to find and preserve a number of items from the Laurel Police Department’s history, going beyond just photos and ephemera. Among the collection are obsolete badges, uniform patches, and a one-of-a-kind piece that never ceases to amuse guests—the mugshot board (below, top) that was used to process arrests at the previous station off C Street. It makes for a memorable Christmas card photo!
